General manager of NF Railway visits Tinsukia

: From our Staff CorrespondentTINSUKIA, Feb 5: “All are equal in our eyes.” The N/F Railway general Manager Ashutosh Swamy told while speaking to the media at a press meet held at New Tinsukia while answering their questions on over looking of Tinsukia Railway Station in the form of majority of passenger Train to be run from Dibrugarh Banipur Railway Station to Tinsukia Railway Station on Monday last.It is reported that the general manager, who is on an annual inspection visit, told that the Railway is committed to provide better service every time to the public. When the general manager was asked about reports of the alleged one crore cheque scam in Tinsukia Railway Division, he, replied that this kind of an incident has taken place and told that already enquiry has been ordered. The media attracted the attention of the general manager towards substandard coaches being provided in the North East Express and other mail train services and appealed to start the Brahmaputra Mail from the old railway station. The communist party of Tinsukia District led by secretary Ranjan Choudhury also submitted a memorandum to the General Manager with 11 point demand for consideration that included starting of a Mail /Express train viz Abodh Assam, Cochin, Saraighat Express, Dadar and Trivandrum Express from New Tinsukia Railway Station citing essential for this Industrial Town specially the Bangalore Express be started Immediately. Demand was also made for reconstruction of the Old Tinsukia Railway Station and other smaller stations like DoomDooma, Hanshara, Borhapjan and others for better utilization. A double track railway line upto Ledo, installation of computer reservation counters at New Tinsukia Railway Station was also demanded.
