Army provides sheds for weekly market at Guna Nagar


TINSUKIA, Feb 19: On February 17, 11th Battalion of the Sikh Light Infantry of Dah Division provided sheds for the weekly market at Guna Nagar for the people of Chowkham Circle.The inauguration ceremony was attended by the local civil officials, people of the market committee, gaon burahs, shopkeepers and senior citizens of the area. As per Army spokesperson, the weekly market at Guna Nagar is a major attraction for the people of Chowkham Circle as people from all villages of Chowkham are dependent on this weekly market for purchase of items for day to day activities.So far Army has provided X-ray Machine at Community Health Centre, Namsai, a Computer laboratory at Government Secondary School, Namsai, hand pumps in various villages of Namsai Sub Division and organized a Sub Divisional level football tournament as a part of Operation Sadbhavna.He further added the Army is providing Solar Lights in some remote villages of Namsai Sub Division. He said that Army will continue working towards improvement of local infrastructure in future as well as in all areas of needs of the common people. The efforts of the Army towards improving the living conditions of locals were highly appreciated by one and all present on the occasion. A high level of mutual trust and comrade co-operation was noticed between civilians and Army.
