GUWAHATI: Two militants, one from the ULFA and the other from the NDFB, were killed in separate encounters in lower Assam on Saturday.
Informed about the presence of four ULFA militants at Maladhara in Goalpara district, a joint operation by the police and the Army was launched, and a militant was killed, while three others fled.
The slain militant was identified as ‘Sergeant’ Dilip Rabha alias Laden of the outfit’s 109 battalion.
An NDFB militant was killed in an encounter with security forces at Bijni in Chirang district.
A 9-mm pistol and some documents were recovered from his person, sources said. — PTI
