No polio cases detected in Meghalaya

SHILLONG, Jan 10 – Meghalaya Chief Secretary WMS Pariat on Saturday claimed that no polio cases was detected in the State during the last 12 years.

Pariat who administered polio drops to the children in Ganesh Das Hospital in Shillong to mark the inauguration of the Pulse Polio Immunization programme in the State of Meghalaya said that the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme is one of the biggest campaigns in the entire country and added that the State Government has accorded top priority to eradicate this disease and the challenge ahead is to remain polio free.
