PDS licence cancelled

SIVASAGAR, Sept 6: Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner NM Hussain has cancelled the PDS licence of Gadhulibazar Gaon Panchayat Samabai Samity (GPSS) following reports of gross anomaly conducted by the secretary of the GPSS Rama Gogoi in distribution of PDS rice. Earlier, an inquiry was conducted by N Bora, Inspector of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs of Sivasagar regarding seizure of 16.28 quintals of PDS rice from the possession of Rama Gogoi. The inquiry brought to the light about the shortage of 25.39 quintals of PDS rice in the physical stock which did not have conformity with the book balance.
