KOHIMA, March 13 – Featuring dance troupes from Myanmar, a five-day North East Spring Festival would be kicked off at Dimapur on March 16.
Being organised by the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) at its complex at Dimapur, the festival would be a mega North East-centric carnival capturing the mood and brilliance of Spring time, said council director Som Kamei.
The event will also feature a book fair and seminars organised by National Book Trust at the same venue where Lou Majaw of Shillong is expected to add sheen to the carnival being participated by over 500 artistes.
The festival will showcase the biggest ensemble of folk dances, folk music, puppeteers, craftsmen, poets, choral singers, theatre groups, chefs and others from the region and other parts of the country. – PTI
