Participating in the programme, the Deputy Commissioner Gyanendra Dev Tripathi spoke on the execution of the plans prepared to solve the problems in rural and urban areas. He also laid emphasis on internal resource development, slum area development and raising general awareness.
The workshop was chaired by District Planning Committee president Mina Teli.
Joydeep Barua and Dr Bhupen Sarma of Omiyo Kumar Das Institute of Social Science and Development were the resource persons. Displaying a power plant, they explained in detail on decentralized and co-ordinated planning under the title of Vision Dibrugarh 2025.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Dr KK Deka, inaugurated the workshop. Apart from UNICEF officials, officers of various departments of the district administration, representatives of Panchayats and Gaonburas were also present on the occasion.
