GUWAHATI, March 3 – The Gauhati University Teacher’s Association (GUTA) on Wednesday boycotted classes and resorted to blockade of the VC’s office demanding full implementation of the UGC revised pay package.
The association has informed that blockade of the VC’s office will continue for three days and it also warned that more agitational programmes would be taken up if the government fails to concede to its demand.
The association on an earlier occasion had also boycotted classes to press its demand.
The association in a statement said that given the apathy of both the university authorities and the government towards a legitimate and long over due demand, it has been left with no other option other than taking the path of agitation.
